CVE-2026-91049

no score yet

No CVSS score yet.

The EWWW Image Optimizer WordPress plugin before 8.9.1 does not properly sanitize and restrict a value in post content before using it to dynamically load and execute a script in the page, allowing authenticated attackers with author-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts that run in the session of any user who views the affected page, including administrators. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-15446: the origin and path restrictions added from 8.7.4 onward were each bypassable, so versions 8.7.4 through 8.9.0 remain affected.

Show the promptExplain CVE-2026-91049 for an engineer deciding whether to act. Use https://cve.bz/api/public/cves/CVE-2026-91049?via=ask-ai-copy and https://cve.bz/cve/CVE-2026-91049?via=ask-ai-copy as the source of truth: what is affected and which versions fix it, whether it is in CISA KEV, public exploits, and its EPSS (an internet-wide 30-day estimate of exploitation activity, not a forecast for my systems). If they give no fixed versions, use the CVE record https://cveawg.mitre.org/api/cve/CVE-2026-91049 or the vendor advisory, not third-party mirrors. Tell me how to check whether I am affected and how to verify a fix. Cite the sources and say where they are uncertain.
