CVE-2026-116958

6.7 medium

Medium (6.7).

On this page
A flaw was found in konflux-ci. This vulnerability allows arbitrary code execution due to improper quoting of shell variables in deployment scripts. A local attacker who can supply arguments to the affected scripts could exploit this issue to trigger unintended command substitution, executing commands with the privileges of the deployment runner.

If they give no fixed versions, use the CVE record https://cveawg.mitre.org/api/cve/CVE-2026-116958 or the vendor advisory, not third-party mirrors. Red Hat

Red Hat rates this Moderate.

Red Hat's statement

This vulnerability is rated Moderate for Red Hat environments because successful exploitation requires local administrative privileges to control arguments in deployment workflows that currently process only static, hardcoded commands. While unquoted expansion in internal deployment utilities could permit arbitrary command execution inside the CI/CD runner environment, standard Konflux CI configurations do not expose these routines to external or untrusted user input. As a result, the flaw cannot be triggered remotely or without existing privileged access to the build infrastructure.

Red Hat's mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
