CVE-2026-114627
No CVSS score yet.
On this page
Web::Simple versions before 0.036 for Perl do not escape values interpolated into double-quoted strings in HTML::Tags output.
Under use HTML::Tags or use XML::Tags, a double-quoted string literal becomes a StringThing object that holds each interpolated value as a separate part. The escaping step passes such objects through, and stringify joins their interpolated parts as is. A value passed on its own, as in <p>, $value, </p>, is entity-escaped, but the same value in "Hello $value" is not.
An attacker who controls a value that an application interpolates into a double-quoted string can inject script into the generated page.

Explain CVE-2026-114627 for an engineer deciding whether to act. Use https://cve.bz/api/public/cves/CVE-2026-114627?via=ask-ai-copy and https://cve.bz/cve/CVE-2026-114627?via=ask-ai-copy as the source of truth: what is affected and which versions fix it, whether it is in CISA KEV, public exploits, and its EPSS (an internet-wide 30-day estimate of exploitation activity, not a forecast for my systems). If they give no fixed versions, use the CVE record https://cveawg.mitre.org/api/cve/CVE-2026-114627 or the vendor advisory, not third-party mirrors. Tell me how to check whether I am affected and how to verify a fix. Cite the sources and say where they are uncertain.Opens a third-party assistant; its answer is its own, not cve.bz's.
