This is in turn can lead to\nuse-after-free and NULL-pointer dereferences in racing ioctls (including\na synchronous hangup) and in processing of racing asynchronous hangups\n(carrier loss).\n\nAdd the missing serialisation to tty_port_tty_vhangup() and\ntty_port_hangup() so that the former does not return until the port has\nbeen shut down also when there is a racing hangup.\n\nNote that serial core does not use tty_port_hangup(), but it already\nholds the port mutex when clearing port->tty and shutting down the port\nin uart_hangup().","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/017b18addbe8dcace1a569a00d40ed1ba1e03f4c","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6b7be3b9b857947e9c1338d4919d4ebd3b75e907","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6d1a984afc3ca477dab3e51ec806671d443ad524","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b48820de8c1a596c5b99775524dfce73c6576c5d","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ce220b4cdf62f73db0c1940f968eb33b9899fdd0"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98752","score":0.00168,"percentile":0.0598,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
