The ANA log header and group descriptors independently\nsupply the number of groups and namespace IDs to parse.\n\nBoth bounds checks subtract an untrusted object size from ana_log_size\nbefore comparing the current offset. If the object is larger than the\nbuffer, the size_t subtraction underflows and lets the parser read beyond\nana_log_buf.\n\nCheck the current offset before the first subtraction and compare each\nobject size with the remaining buffer instead. This rejects inconsistent\nANA data before dereferencing a truncated group descriptor or walking an\noversized namespace ID array.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/03a0c21f0fd7a872953aae5714303d8f38d1e567","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3045128294d347fd38542ad6e174b1b34d9c0751","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/49e8a3224c91fd5fbf22f4adcca6c8209cfdd6fe","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/63fa2d9c9c37020bd2703fe2a6a38027b5abeb15","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e5cdb0c0a51e8ff49914ae16ef5360010c40cc85"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98726","score":0.002,"percentile":0.09718,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
