Normal buffer updates take\ninfo_exist_lock followed by mlock in iio_update_buffers().\n\nHowever, iio_device_unregister() disables and deactivates all buffers\nwithout taking mlock. This can invalidate buffer state, including\nactive_scan_mask, while a buffer-mode claim is held.\n\nTake mlock in iio_disable_all_buffers() so that unregister honors the\nmode-claim lifetime guarantee. The info_exist_lock -> mlock ordering\nmatches iio_update_buffers().","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6a728408ff522b749c2a3c7e68f44e861fa0dbfb","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/84bb0fc46ccf6a545b8fdf57cda83770186ed8dd","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/89f3852a28fcf7bab599280cb082baa0675536db","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b466db9e68b4741af85f6c017e2bb0a2f025053f","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e63188d77e10c0951bf67da6c295f768fd1abf4b"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98669","score":0.00168,"percentile":0.05988,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
