Nothing cancels this work\nbefore iio_trig_release() frees the trigger, so a worker armed by the\nlast in-flight IRQ can outlive the free and touch freed memory.\n\nCancel it at the top of iio_trig_release(), which every free path\nreaches through the device core's final put_device().\n\nFound by an in-house static analysis tool.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2a57b9246cecd5dd797a42eb310d6c8816f26d9e","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/882d0011c59ff8ac15188ec9ce071399ecfa10ad","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ac5d26a46c90ff61fd574eff4e8f0d71c905828a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/cf513df1a2c75566cdc802d9da47f62e8d6cfd18","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e64703280ce7a23a43c27efebeb7da457c88bf5c"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-22T16:41:11.231219466+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98656","score":0.00168,"percentile":0.0599,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
