For off == 0, this produces spi 0, the\nsame index used by the valid stack slot at fp-8.\n\nstack_slot_obj_get_spi() currently checks alignment and the resulting\nspi bounds, but does not reject the non-negative offset itself. It can\ntherefore validate a PTR_TO_STACK register holding fp+0 against an\niterator stored at fp-8 even though the runtime receives the actual fp+0\npointer. An effectful iterator kfunc can then interpret memory outside\nthe BPF stack as iterator state.\n\nReject non-negative offsets before converting the offset to an spi. All\nvalid stack objects begin at a negative offset from the frame pointer.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/79a9172f3ab4ad8392c5e5c8944b9b7710ade620","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/89a7241fc7ecc1b5e47c3f071081e314523b8d9d"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T23:00:53.604569364+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98599","score":0.00189,"percentile":0.08469,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
