I am reporting it because KMSAN flagged it as a\nkernel-infoleak and the fix is straightforward. I can provide a\nuserspace reproducer on request.\n\nThe original code used strncpy() which zero-pads to the destination size.\nCommit b04202d6065c (\"net/sched: replace strncpy with strscpy\") replaced\nit with strscpy(), which does not pad, creating this condition.\nZero-initialising the struct closes it.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0b160417826d22f24fc31a5b9cfae3b14aa70f76","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9923e1c537f91f3530b52d4efce85f3d9c131bf8","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9c572a83037a7dcd653ba3a9cc468c16b857d0c9"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T23:00:53.604569364+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98584","score":0.00198,"percentile":0.09475,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
