However, Sashiko\nreports that the mp2975 driver already supports up to 14 phases, and the\nmp2856 driver supports up to 12 phases. This already has the potential for\nout-of-bounds writes when probing the affected chips, making this patch a\nbug fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/06bd6794b5fd2163880ac3bfe973d4cc61f359f3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1ec644c94466834f8cb6b7ba12636fd047bdfdda","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/272006a52cbd9c8342cead4d3eb9221ebbe8b985","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/66368f682a53f3a3842e20eebb571a59809c52c0","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9558fc1e042ac6b12dd63c37d2c51be4ec86d402"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98199","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06629,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
