This was calculated as\n\norder_base_2(q->eop_ring_buffer_size / 4) - 1\n\nBut order_base_2 can in theory return 0, so this could underflow\n(although in practice the ring buffer size cannot be less than 4096).\n\nChange this to\n\norder_base_2(q->eop_ring_buffer_size / 8)\n\nusing properties of logarithms.\n\nAlso add to the above comment to make the mathematics more clear.\n\n(cherry picked from commit f0f43fcf8b2b3a924cad9444340921c96ed5f634)","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/287a34c4d712e0bdb67751e21316d9c8d75a528a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8ee521b8b189799e361d4233c5180ba56656d4d4"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98177","score":0.00155,"percentile":0.04617,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
