It handles\nthe error by aborting the transaction and then reaches the common exit\npath, which ends the transaction again.\n\nThe premature end can free the handle and drop its transaction reference.\nTransaction cleanup can then free the transaction before the caller's\nsecond abort accesses the handle and transaction, resulting in\nuse-after-free.\n\nKeep the abort at the failure site, but let the caller's common exit path\nend the transaction once, after it has finished using both objects.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.0},"cwes":["CWE-416"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/089d9c45ea49ffffe55a8fe08d0ce2536626e90a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2fbfd02bdfe12b20bd3cc7a3190fb32e3f7072f5","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a8813a923f9e43f788b357fb55c35f7f6ed6f98c","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b185bdf30313e213fa1c887fe22fc3d513c061d9","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b7b94923b3b5774d85a2a7c8d6eb9e3e0ef66685"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98083","score":0.00118,"percentile":0.01706,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
