The version 1 sync sender passes these\narguments in reverse for both sequence blocks. This leaves 24 bytes of the\nkmalloc-backed message unwritten. It may disclose stale heap data and\nreplace the live connection sequence state with values read from the\nbuffer.\n\nPass the connection sequence state as the source and the message payload as\nthe destination for both blocks.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","score":4.4},"cwes":["CWE-125"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/524599714558da83747c04952d378155c69f5b6b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/677ff8ab30a663cde984d8afe86465fd0d81aeef","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ae38b2ae16f709c0193e1b4340bde26ef3e2687d","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b04578b74f2d3755548fe9e829e3b2a6c6f966a1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bbc68ba258a4eb0a2ca3b3a105550801aa8b00b0"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98078","score":0.00155,"percentile":0.04588,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
