This reaches\nanon_inode_getfd(), which can sleep while allocating or expanding the\ncurrent task fd table.\n\nThe helper prototype does not set might_sleep, so the verifier allows\nthe helper in non-sleepable contexts such as BPF timer callbacks. The\nfd allocation can then sleep in softirq context and install the fd into\nthe interrupted task.\n\nMark the helper as sleepable. This preserves calls from the main body\nof a sleepable syscall program while rejecting calls from its\nnon-sleepable regions.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/17f54a8f2b9714529d56edbbe12d448ccdbbf469","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/29e40175617216fbd4544529f6bfb51d1ab95ba1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4d8784226bd3c6a707975081f986078f40456cec","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/620614bf7672130c43b3cff375525a2202f61979","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/7bf23cf7c9c0e0b5e638e497cdc0ec3f223742cc"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-98046","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06643,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
