{"cve":"CVE-2026-9801","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-28T06:16:29.493","modified":"2026-10-26T12:10:00.130","status":"Modified","description":"A flaw was found in Keycloak. A remote attacker with high privileges, such as a realm administrator configuring a malicious Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server or an attacker compromising an upstream LDAP server, could exploit this vulnerability. By sending a malformed LDAP password policy response during a password authentication request, the attacker can trigger an OutOfMemoryError. This causes the Keycloak Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to terminate, leading to a denial of service (DoS) for all realms on the affected node.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":4.9},"cwes":["CWE-1284"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:25097","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:25098","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:30049","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:30050","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-9801"],"products":["redhat:build_of_keycloak"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T12:35:18.182177120+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-9801","score":0.00477,"percentile":0.409,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-f6r7-6w34-x2gp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-f6r7-6w34-x2gp","summary":"Keycloak Vulnerable to Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input","modified":"2026-07-01T21:56:29.934342Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.keycloak:keycloak-ldap-federation","purl":"pkg:maven/org.keycloak/keycloak-ldap-federation","ranges":["<26.6.3"],"fixed":["26.6.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
