From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, the GRANT PROXY statement treats an IDENTIFIED clause with an empty password as though authentication were not specified, causing it to check the wrong grantor privileges. A low-privileged attacker who can name another account can exploit this authorization error to set that account's password. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-620","CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/MariaDB/server/commit/dbd60d0ad8daa2d01050346aa50b7b102490e456","https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-10.11.19","https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-10.6.28","https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-11.4.13","https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-11.8.9"],"products":["mariadb:mariadb"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:56:58.798400159+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-97380","score":0.00777,"percentile":0.5557,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
