From 16.0.0 until 16.3.8, the `next dev` development server exposes a Model Context Protocol endpoint without reliably restricting cross-site requests. A malicious website visited by a developer can reach the endpoint and read the project's disk location, source code snippets from error reports, route inventory, and development logs. Production deployments do not serve this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 16.3.8.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-346"],"references":["https://github.com/vercel/next.js/commit/2d9f50a409312696145b82b3157aadb6b1fef476","https://github.com/vercel/next.js/releases/tag/v16.3.8","https://github.com/vercel/next.js/security/advisories/GHSA-f87g-xv8r-7p7x"],"products":["vercel:next.js"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-94485","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06667,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-f87g-xv8r-7p7x","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-f87g-xv8r-7p7x","summary":"Next.js has information disclosure in App Router metadata image routes via dynamicParams bypass","modified":"2026-10-07T20:45:04.338515172Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next","purl":"pkg:npm/next","ranges":[">=16.0.0 <16.3.8"],"fixed":["16.3.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
