{"cve":"CVE-2026-90554","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-12T13:16:54.040","modified":"2026-09-24T20:28:13.590","status":"Analyzed","description":"vLLM versions >=0.10.2 and <0.28.0 do not apply any audio decode-size or duration limit when extracting audio from video input for NanoNemotronVL models. In nano_nemotron_vl.py, _extract_audio_from_videos calls load_audio_pyav(BytesIO(video_bytes)) without the max_duration_s or max_decode_bytes parameters, so neither VLLM_MAX_AUDIO_DECODE_DURATION_S nor VLLM_MAX_AUDIO_DECODE_BYTES is enforced (unlike the direct audio upload path in AudioMediaIO). When a NanoNemotronVL model is served with use_audio_in_video=True, an attacker who supplies a small, highly compressed video as multimodal input can force the server to allocate gigabytes of memory during audio decoding, resulting in a denial of service. Fixed in vLLM 0.28.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm/security/advisories/GHSA-936p-m5pv-vvjf","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/vllm-before-0.28.0-denial-of-service-via-audio-extraction"],"products":["vllm:vllm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:53:43.293028046+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-90554","score":0.00201,"percentile":0.09966,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
