{"cve":"CVE-2026-89047","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-01T08:16:53.187","modified":"2026-10-03T16:16:40.710","status":"Deferred","description":"The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via URL in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the victim to be on a mobile user-agent and to click the WeChat share icon, though once the dialog opens, script execution is automatic and requires no further user interaction.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ultimate-social-media-icons/tags/3.0.1/js/custom.js#L420","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ultimate-social-media-icons/tags/3.0.1/libs/sfsi_widget.php#L1671","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3702016%40ultimate-social-media-icons&new=3702016%40ultimate-social-media-icons","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/0fae3a9b-5f9a-441b-9ac9-55f24e342187?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:57:46.668721662+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-89047","score":0.00289,"percentile":0.21239,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
