Prior to 53.3.11, and in the discontinued 54.0.0-beta.0 through 54.0.0-beta.1 builds, Plate core HTML deserialization APIs parse supplied HTML strings in the active document. When an application passes untrusted or cross-user HTML to these APIs, certain HTML attributes can trigger browser behavior before the HTML is converted into editor nodes. This can allow attacker-controlled script to execute in the consuming application's origin when another user loads the deserialized content. This issue is fixed in version 53.3.11.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/udecode/plate/commit/d02afe45d5ec3a9fb95e0745bc5820ff18a3c12b","https://github.com/udecode/plate/pull/5117","https://github.com/udecode/plate/releases/tag/v53.3.11","https://github.com/udecode/plate/security/advisories/GHSA-qrfj-mgw8-j9c6"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:54:41.405518556+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-88976","score":0.00338,"percentile":0.27244,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qrfj-mgw8-j9c6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qrfj-mgw8-j9c6","summary":"@platejs/core HTML deserialization can trigger browser behavior during parsing","modified":"2026-09-17T20:45:07.389461331Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@platejs/core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40platejs/core","ranges":["<53.3.11"],"fixed":["53.3.11"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@platejs/core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40platejs/core","ranges":[">=54.0.0-beta.0 <=54.0.0-beta.1"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
