{"cve":"CVE-2026-88882","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-10T14:17:16.823","modified":"2026-09-29T23:17:23.637","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Renovate is a dependency update automation tool. In versions before 44.11.2 (and Mend Renovate CE/EE images and charts before 15.4.0, and mend-renovate-enterprise-edition helm chart before 10.4.0), when listing new package versions from a NuGet registry Renovate follows pagination URLs supplied by the registry in the HTTP `Link` header without verifying that the target has the same origin as the configured registry. Registry credentials are attached to the request for the 'next' page, so a malicious or compromised NuGet registry can return a `Link` header pointing at an attacker-controlled server and cause Renovate to send the registry credentials to that server. Exploitation requires the remote registry to be malicious or compromised; such a registry would normally already have received the credentials on the initial request, so the issue primarily allows the credentials to be delivered to an additional, attacker-chosen host. The fix restricts pagination to the same origin; the previous behaviour can be re-enabled with the RENOVATE_X_NUGET_PAGINATION_ALLOW_CROSS_ORIGIN option.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:N/SA:N","score":9.2},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-601"],"references":["https://github.com/renovatebot/renovate/security/advisories/GHSA-rh7w-ccch-gh49","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/renovate-before-44.11.2-credential-exfiltration-via-link-header"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:52:53.108888569+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-88882","score":0.00409,"percentile":0.34891,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
