{"cve":"CVE-2026-87685","nvd":{"published":"2026-10-08T04:17:56.097","modified":"2026-10-14T19:11:25.967","status":"Analyzed","description":"An arbitrary file manipulation vulnerability exists in the WebTools management interface of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. When processing configuration transfer requests, the application fails to properly validate and sanitize a user-supplied status file path parameter. An authenticated administrative user can exploit this issue by submitting a specially crafted status file parameter, causing the underlying process to move an arbitrary system file to a predictable, world-readable temporary directory. This can lead to persistent Denial of Service (DoS), critical system file destruction, host compromise, or sensitive data leakage.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.4},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":6.8},"cwes":["CWE-73"],"references":["https://support.broadcom.com/external/content/SecurityAdvisories/0/39079"],"products":["broadcom:fabric_operating_system"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:58:01.639778232+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-87685","score":0.00183,"percentile":0.07852,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
