{"cve":"CVE-2026-86074","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-08T18:21:14.273","modified":"2026-09-11T18:20:24.770","status":"Analyzed","description":"n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 2.37.7 and 2.38.2, the Instance AI credential setup flow accepted a credential test or verification URL without checking that it matched the workflow node's origin. Attacker-controlled fetched content could influence that URL after a user injected it into the setup flow, causing authenticated requests, redirects, or probes to reach another origin. The affected logic includes packages/@n8n/instance-ai/src/tools/workflows/credential-utils.ts and the extractServiceOrigin origin derivation. This issue is fixed in versions 2.37.7 and 2.38.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":5.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n@2.37.7","https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n@2.38.2","https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-q5wm-mgqx-fv2f"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:52:53.108888569+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-86074","score":0.00376,"percentile":0.31584,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q5wm-mgqx-fv2f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q5wm-mgqx-fv2f","summary":"n8n: Instance AI Credential Setup Accepts Unvalidated Probe URL from Fetched Content","modified":"2026-09-10T21:30:04.789468256Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.38.0 <2.38.2"],"fixed":["2.38.2"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<2.37.7"],"fixed":["2.37.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
