{"cve":"CVE-2026-85534","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-04T11:17:19.627","modified":"2026-09-08T19:08:15.590","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"A flaw was found in libsoup. When a client sends an HTTP/2 request body from a non-pollable input stream, the library can buffer more data than the current flow-control window later allows. A malicious HTTP/2 server can shrink SETTINGS_INITIAL_WINDOW_SIZE while that buffered read is still in progress. The client then copies the full buffer into a smaller DATA callback without a runtime bounds check, which can abort the process or fail the HTTP/2 session.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-617"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-85534","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2528440","https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup/-/blob/master/libsoup/http2/soup-client-message-io-http2.c","https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup/-/work_items/551"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:52:03.409947763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-85534","score":0.00315,"percentile":0.24499,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
