{"cve":"CVE-2026-85061","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-03T21:17:23.323","modified":"2026-09-09T21:09:13.080","status":"Deferred","description":"MapLibre GL JS is an interactive vector tile map library for web browsers. Prior to 6.4.1, DOM.sanitize() in src/util/dom.ts iterates elem.attributes as a live NamedNodeMap while removeAttributes() removes attributes from the same collection, shifting indexes and skipping an adjacent dangerous attribute. An attacker who controls untrusted third-party style attribution strings or user-supplied custom attributions can supply consecutive dangerous attributes, causing an attribute such as onload or ontoggle to survive sanitization and execute when the attribution control inserts the content into innerHTML. A victim must render the affected map content for the script to execute. This issue is fixed in version 6.4.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/commit/1da69f3cd913a39fa948708e01478663bf48bc27","https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/pull/8189","https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/releases/tag/v6.4.1","https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js/security/advisories/GHSA-jrc7-96c5-q579"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:52:03.409947763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-85061","score":0.00522,"percentile":0.44339,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jrc7-96c5-q579","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jrc7-96c5-q579","summary":"MapLibre GL JS: XSS Sanitizer Bypass in DOM.sanitize() via Live NamedNodeMap Removal Skip","modified":"2026-09-08T21:00:06.120859507Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"maplibre-gl","purl":"pkg:npm/maplibre-gl","ranges":["<6.4.1"],"fixed":["6.4.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
