{"cve":"CVE-2026-82405","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-23T20:17:16.370","modified":"2026-09-24T16:17:12.153","status":"Deferred","description":"Klever-Go is the Go implementation of the Klever blockchain protocol. Prior to 1.7.20, the KleverUpdateAccountPermission built-in authorizes replacement of a target account's permissions by checking attacker-controlled vmInput.RecipientAddr instead of authenticated vmInput.CallerAddr. An attacker-controlled contract can choose a victim account with configured permissions as RecipientAddr, and contractHasValidPermission can accept the victim's default self-signer as authorization. UpdatePermission can then replace the victim's entire permission set with attacker-supplied Owner permissions, enabling asset theft or permanent lockout without a victim key or signature. Accounts without stored permissions and the native transaction path are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.20.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://gist.github.com/mabdullah22/a41f90aa5ba86bbebf121f739bd5f5e9","https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/commit/c58740eb74d7ee8f07db1e18a7d6214b5559ba32","https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/releases/tag/v1.7.20","https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/security/advisories/GHSA-97cv-x867-6xhm"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-82405","score":0.00427,"percentile":0.3702,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-97cv-x867-6xhm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-97cv-x867-6xhm","summary":"Klever-Go Account takeover: `kleverUpdateAccountPermission` authorizes on attacker-controlled `RecipientAddr` instead of the authenticated caller","modified":"2026-10-01T20:56:19.906249303Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/klever-io/klever-go","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/klever-io/klever-go","ranges":["<1.7.20"],"fixed":["1.7.20"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-6582","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6582","summary":"Klever-Go Account takeover: `kleverUpdateAccountPermission` authorizes on attacker-controlled `RecipientAddr` instead of the authenticated caller in github.com/klever-io/klever-go","modified":"2026-10-01T20:45:14.079819826Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/klever-io/klever-go","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/klever-io/klever-go","ranges":["<1.7.20"],"fixed":["1.7.20"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
