{"cve":"CVE-2026-81852","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-31T03:16:42.500","modified":"2026-09-01T21:15:00.147","status":"Deferred","description":"Use of Insufficiently Random Values vulnerability in ash-project ash_admin ships a hardcoded, publicly known CSP nonce, defeating nonce-based Content-Security-Policy protection.\n\nWhen mounted without :csp_nonce_assign_key, AshAdmin.Router.ash_admin/2 defaulted the img, style, and script nonces to the literal constant ash_admin-Ed55GFnX, which AshAdmin.Layouts wrote verbatim into the nonce attribute of its inline <style> and <script> tags on every response. The value is a compile-time constant published in the repository and is never rotated per request. If an application's CSP script-src allow-lists that documented default, any HTML-injection sink on an admin page can reuse the known nonce to run inline scripts the policy was meant to block. The fix generates a fresh random nonce per request.\n\nThis issue affects ash_admin: from 0.10.8 before 1.3.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":2.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-330"],"references":["https://cna.erlef.org/cves/CVE-2026-81852.html","https://github.com/ash-project/ash_admin/commit/bc7a1cdf873b16971a8efec35d085f8bb706314f","https://github.com/ash-project/ash_admin/security/advisories/GHSA-whfj-rrrp-j597","https://osv.dev/vulnerability/EEF-CVE-2026-81852","https://github.com/ash-project/ash_admin/security/advisories/GHSA-whfj-rrrp-j597"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:50.842544443+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-81852","score":0.00528,"percentile":0.44711,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
