This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The nonce protecting chat message submission is publicly visible on the chat page, rendering it ineffective as an authentication barrier and allowing fully unauthenticated attackers to submit malicious messages that are stored persistently and rendered to all visitors on every page load.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/simple-ajax-chat/trunk/simple-ajax-chat-core.php#L34","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/simple-ajax-chat/trunk/simple-ajax-chat-form.php#L143","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/simple-ajax-chat/trunk/simple-ajax-chat-form.php#L144","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/simple-ajax-chat/trunk/simple-ajax-chat-form.php#L182","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/simple-ajax-chat/trunk/simple-ajax-chat.php#L329"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:52:53.108888569+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-81825","score":0.00489,"percentile":0.42117,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
