{"cve":"CVE-2026-80155","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-22T16:18:01.917","modified":"2026-09-24T20:17:31.680","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"Lantronix SLC8000 before firmware v9.7.0.5, SLC9000 before firmware v9.7.0.2, EMG8500/EMG7500 before firmware v9.7.0.1, and all firmware versions of SLB882/SLCx-03/SLCx-02 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability in the web management portal upload endpoint that allows unauthenticated attackers to read sensitive configuration files and upload files to arbitrary filesystem locations, leading to remote code execution. The web configuration server constructs the session cookie file path using snprintf with a fixed-size buffer; by supplying a cookie value of a specific length an attacker causes the path to truncate at the required delimiter and leverages path traversal to redirect authentication validation to an arbitrary on-disk file such as the local user database, bypassing all session checks. Attackers can use this vulnerability to achieve complete loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the affected device and potentially impact downstream serial-connected devices.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H","score":10.0},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://revrb.net/2026/09/21/revrb-lantern.html","https://ts.lantronix.com/ftp/SLC9000/9.7.0.2R1/","https://ts.lantronix.com/ftp/emg/EMG_7500/9.7.0.1R2/","https://ts.lantronix.com/ftp/emg/EMG_8500/9.7.0.1R2/","https://ts.lantronix.com/ftp/slc8000/9.7.0.5R2/"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:56:02.509636177+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-80155","score":0.01025,"percentile":0.63583,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
