From version 1.6.19 to before version 1.17.2, Nuclio's Dashboard build pipeline does not sanitize the spec.build.tempDir field before using it to construct a shell command. When the Kaniko container builder is enabled, a user with function-create permission can inject shell metacharacters into this field and achieve arbitrary command execution inside the Dashboard container, which runs with a Kubernetes service account holding wildcard access to Secrets, Pods, Jobs, and Deployments in its namespace. This issue has been patched in version 1.17.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-77"],"references":["https://github.com/nuclio/nuclio/commit/e3ed7de65c20c270a2035b7c27b25800e5b1e252","https://github.com/nuclio/nuclio/pull/4190","https://github.com/nuclio/nuclio/releases/tag/1.17.2","https://github.com/nuclio/nuclio/security/advisories/GHSA-x44h-qmrv-mh72","https://github.com/nuclio/nuclio/security/advisories/GHSA-x44h-qmrv-mh72"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:50.842544443+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-79754","score":0.00715,"percentile":0.53767,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
