Prior to 1.14.8, the @orpc/server CORS plugin in packages/server/src/plugins/cors.ts copies a client's incoming Vary request header into the response instead of controlling Vary as a response-only header and using Origin for request-origin variation. In deployments behind a shared cache, CDN, or reverse proxy that keys responses using Vary, a client can inject arbitrary variation values, pollute cache keys, and cause inconsistent CORS enforcement for other clients. Default non-cached configurations have no established direct confidentiality, integrity, or availability impact. This issue is fixed in version 1.14.8.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-113"],"references":["https://github.com/middleapi/orpc/commit/daabded122a89d323357c4c401e879701864cb2f","https://github.com/middleapi/orpc/issues/1661","https://github.com/middleapi/orpc/pull/1662","https://github.com/middleapi/orpc/releases/tag/v1.14.8","https://github.com/middleapi/orpc/security/advisories/GHSA-j9v4-rhgr-4m5f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:54:41.405518556+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-77360","score":0.00543,"percentile":0.45323,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j9v4-rhgr-4m5f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j9v4-rhgr-4m5f","summary":"oRPC: Vary Header Injection in CORS Plugin leading to potential Cache/CORS Bypass","modified":"2026-09-17T15:00:05.898138343Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@orpc/server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40orpc/server","ranges":["<1.14.8"],"fixed":["1.14.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
