{"cve":"CVE-2026-77077","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-20T12:16:39.127","modified":"2026-09-01T19:44:33.500","status":"Analyzed","description":"n8n versions before 1.123.69, 2.33.4, and 2.34.1 contain a JavaScript task runner VM sandbox escape. The runner's prototype-freezing routine covers globalThis functions but not internal module constructors such as EventEmitter, allowing an authenticated user with Code node access to exploit prototype pollution to execute arbitrary commands within the runner container. Because the polluted prototype is a process-wide object, the corruption persists across other tenants' Code node executions on the same shared runner. On v1.x instances without task runners enabled, Code node JavaScript runs directly in the main n8n process, where the impact could be higher.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.2},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","score":7.6},"cwes":["CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-m3hg-p5r9-fg9h","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/n8n-before-remote-code-execution-via-eventemitter-prototype-pollution"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:38.260478770+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-77077","score":0.00563,"percentile":0.46838,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
