{"cve":"CVE-2026-76252","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-19T22:17:12.990","modified":"2026-08-26T16:16:38.470","status":"Analyzed","description":"In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.13, an unauthenticated user who tricks another user into visiting a malicious web page could run unauthorized JavaScript in that user's browser. This could allow for unauthorized access to all relevant data available to that user and actions that affect system integrity. The Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) is possible because Splunk Web does not validate the origin and source of messages received by a page message handler. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the affected user by tricking them into initiating a request within their browser. The unauthenticated user should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://advisory.splunk.com/advisories/SVD-2026-0801"],"products":["splunk:splunk"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:38.260478770+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-76252","score":0.00263,"percentile":0.18227,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
