In\nparticular, get_pages() relies on hmm_range_fault() to resolve struct\npages for the target range.\n\nAttempting to create an SVM range on such VMAs results in repeated\nget_pages() failures and can lead to an infinite loop inside a driver’s\npage‑fault handler. Prevent this by rejecting ranges on VM_IO or\nVM_PFNMAP VMAs and returning -EIO.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/353f26c74660bcbd8d82cd76622748e14a5a5db3","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/63f443384979563f16f70420f4fa85bba31238ca","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b82a225e57a334335a21462b75ee2223bc6efe6d"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:49:10.689564601+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-74420","score":0.00206,"percentile":0.10726,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
