{"cve":"CVE-2026-73565","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-13T18:18:19.103","modified":"2026-10-24T15:10:00.190","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"@hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js. From 2.0.0 until 2.0.10, a WebSocket upgrade request to an upgradeWebSocket route with a missing or malformed Sec-WebSocket-Key header causes src/websocket.ts to retain the request's IncomingMessage in waiterMap and leave waitForWebSocket pending because ws.handleUpgrade emits no connection event. The aborted handshake therefore has no cleanup path, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to flood a public route, cause unbounded memory growth, and eventually make the service unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.10.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-401","CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/honojs/node-server/commit/3a21938c418340e980cb7ffa88e78369f78392d1","https://github.com/honojs/node-server/releases/tag/v2.0.10","https://github.com/honojs/node-server/security/advisories/GHSA-9mqv-5hh9-4cgg"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-73565","score":0.00529,"percentile":0.4447,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9mqv-5hh9-4cgg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9mqv-5hh9-4cgg","summary":"Node.js Adapter for Hono: Unauthenticated memory-leak DoS via aborted WebSocket handshake","modified":"2026-08-13T17:55:56.703914Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@hono/node-server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40hono/node-server","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.0.10"],"fixed":["2.0.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
