{"cve":"CVE-2026-73489","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-13T22:17:26.893","modified":"2026-10-24T15:10:00.190","status":"Deferred","description":"Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. Prior to 0.62.4, an authenticated SSH client can cause a denial of service by sending a pty-req channel request with more than 130 terminal-mode records. The parser in russh/src/server/encrypted.rs stores terminal modes in a fixed 130-entry [(Pty::TTY_OP_END, 0); 130] array but continues increasing the mode count, then constructs an out-of-bounds slice and panics before the application pty_request handler runs. The panic terminates the server session task without causing memory corruption. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-129"],"references":["https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/commit/8912512371820167a12a0a638bd666856ce458ad","https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/releases/tag/v0.62.4","https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/security/advisories/GHSA-cqjc-rmpq-xprq","https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/security/advisories/GHSA-cqjc-rmpq-xprq"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:35.584907681+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-73489","score":0.00451,"percentile":0.38903,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cqjc-rmpq-xprq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cqjc-rmpq-xprq","summary":"Russh: Post-auth remote panic via pty-req with more than 130 terminal-mode records","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:11.455167573Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"russh","purl":"pkg:cargo/russh","ranges":["<0.62.4"],"fixed":["0.62.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
