Prior to 3.39.25, POST /api/global/auth/:tenantId/login incremented the failure counter in packages/worker/src/api/controllers/global/auth.ts only for existing users, while packages/worker/src/middleware/emailLockout.ts returned X-Account-Locked and Retry-After only for locked identifiers. An unauthenticated attacker could compare the response after repeated failures to enumerate valid email addresses and temporarily lock valid accounts. This issue is fixed in version 3.39.25.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-204"],"references":["https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/commit/eaae816ab81615c07eb10e4619af078d00e2a706","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/pull/19108","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/releases/tag/3.39.25","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/security/advisories/GHSA-cr7p-cr3q-h5cm","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/security/advisories/GHSA-cr7p-cr3q-h5cm"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-73306","score":0.00438,"percentile":0.38082,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cr7p-cr3q-h5cm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cr7p-cr3q-h5cm","summary":" Budibase: Account Enumeration via Login Lockout Response Differential","modified":"2026-08-12T19:11:12.713972Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@budibase/server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40budibase/server","ranges":["<=3.38.1"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
