{"cve":"CVE-2026-73302","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-13T22:17:25.353","modified":"2026-09-08T20:56:50.520","status":"Deferred","description":"Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.39.30, the OIDC flow in packages/backend-core/src/middleware/passport/sso/oidc.ts resolved an email without getEmailVerified or an email_verified requirement, and packages/backend-core/src/middleware/passport/sso/sso.ts then used users.getGlobalUserByEmail as a fallback account-linking key. An attacker who can authenticate through a configured identity provider that asserts a victim email as unverified can have a fresh provider identity merged into the victim Budibase account and inherit the victim roles. This issue is fixed in version 3.39.30.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H","score":9.0},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/commit/9ecd0048d9c3ae0ee9bd0e6204c621794dd1a4d3","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/pull/19173","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/releases/tag/3.39.30","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/security/advisories/GHSA-hp6v-6jw7-gv2f","https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/security/advisories/GHSA-hp6v-6jw7-gv2f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-73302","score":0.00427,"percentile":0.37023,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-hp6v-6jw7-gv2f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-hp6v-6jw7-gv2f","summary":" Budibase: OIDC SSO account takeover: incoming identity linked by email without checking email_verified","modified":"2026-08-12T19:11:12.967676Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@budibase/server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40budibase/server","ranges":["<=3.38.1"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
