Prior to 3.30.0, FreeRDP server-side RDSTLS in libfreerdp/core/rdstls.c accepts an attacker-supplied RDSTLS_TYPE_CAPABILITIES PDU while rdstls_server_authenticate is waiting for RDSTLS_TYPE_AUTHREQ, leaving resultCode at RDSTLS_RESULT_SUCCESS and allowing a remote unauthenticated client to bypass the RedirectionGuid, username, domain, or password checks. This issue is fixed in version 3.30.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/commit/b05a9510787c83c87ffc5fa8d7cc9f06ed971695","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/pull/13065","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/releases/tag/3.30.0","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-rqgv-grx4-xm6x","https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/security/advisories/GHSA-rqgv-grx4-xm6x"],"products":["freerdp:freerdp"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-73241","score":0.00468,"percentile":0.40503,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
