{"cve":"CVE-2026-7311","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-02T19:17:00.127","modified":"2026-07-06T18:02:49.450","status":"Deferred","description":"The TinyPNG – JPEG, PNG & WebP image compression plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the delete_converted_image_size function in all versions up to, and including, 3.6.13. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). An attacker can exploit this by injecting an arbitrary server file path into the 'convert.path' field of the 'tiny_compress_images' post meta on an attachment they own, then triggering attachment deletion to invoke the vulnerable code path.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tiny-compress-images/tags/3.6.13/src/class-tiny-image-size.php#L245","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tiny-compress-images/tags/3.6.13/src/class-tiny-image.php#L144","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tiny-compress-images/tags/3.6.13/src/class-tiny-plugin.php#L859","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tiny-compress-images/tags/3.6.13/src/config/class-tiny-config.php#L12","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3532827/tiny-compress-images"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:42:16.820116992+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-7311","score":0.01035,"percentile":0.63881,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
