{"cve":"CVE-2026-72764","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-11T13:19:06.530","modified":"2026-10-24T15:10:00.190","status":"Analyzed","description":"n8n's JavaScript task runner shared a single module cache across all users' Code-node executions. In affected versions (before 1.123.67, 2.31.5, and 2.32.1), a user able to run a Code node could poison a cached module and thereby alter other users' Code-node executions on the same runner, affecting their confidentiality, integrity, or availability. This is a cross-user isolation break within a single n8n instance and does not constitute a sandbox escape or remote code execution. Only multi-user instances running the JS task runner with built-in or external modules enabled are affected.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H","score":5.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-668"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-9cmh-xcqm-5hqr","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/n8n-before-module-cache-poisoning-via-code-node"],"products":["n8n:n8n"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:34.184483516+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-72764","score":0.00813,"percentile":0.56732,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9cmh-xcqm-5hqr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9cmh-xcqm-5hqr","summary":"n8n: Cross-Tenant Module-Cache Poisoning in the JS Task Runner","modified":"2026-08-12T04:26:14.307552297Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<1.123.67"],"fixed":["1.123.67"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.32.0 <2.32.1"],"fixed":["2.32.1"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.0.0-rc.0 <2.31.5"],"fixed":["2.31.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
