This number is\nan u16 and gets multiplied by the size of the struct\nbatadv_tvlv_tt_vlan_data (8 bytes). The size can therefore overflow the u16\nused to store the tt_vlan_len. All additional safety checks to prevent\nout-of-bounds access of the TVLV buffer are invalid due to this overflow.\n\nUsing size_t prevents this overflow and ensures that the safety checks\ncompare against the actual buffer requirements.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0de12a4c4847f571d82a9cd96bc633eded41d7c6","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/1898273c5dc8148267ef9f97cd2517a2822350e7","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3256c05d5a9db34346eaf20f52dddde984852d77","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/604bd5042fbcd1ab9f7cd98fd847ec017aeede8a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6222b443686525cb5a9b6a9cecf23b2e2ab23e2a"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-72226","score":0.00755,"percentile":0.54836,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
