As a result, uninitialized memory dereference and/or\nmemory leak can happen. Fix those.\n\n\nThis patch (of 2):\n\nIn access_pattern_add_dirs(), error handling path puts references starting\nfrom setup failed directories. If the failure happpened from the initial\nallication in the setup functions, uninitialized memory dereference\nhappen. The allocation failures will not commonly happen, but the\nconsequence is quite bad. Fix the wrong reference put orders.\n\nThe issue was discovered [1] by Sashiko.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0710cc97962ca3bcabaa15ce7fead300faf726cd","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a8c0592a80e954825f2ba29e7f32893f1df762f2","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d58fdbe37a829fd2e5803dd4e5a72992dd8c5368","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e03442b0c48bdb034f5b7cf9f3b76d8025576071","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ee59df7a886a35113f309e3eb791060c46f79bb1"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-72177","score":0.00215,"percentile":0.11873,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
