That helper acquires the Ethernet subsystem\nhardware lock via lan743x_hs_syslock_acquire(), which relies on\nadapter->eth_syslock_spinlock to serialize access.\n\nThe spinlock is currently initialized only after the strap status is\nread. With CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK enabled, taking the zeroed initialized\nspinlock can trip the spinlock debug check.\n\nFix by initializing adapter->eth_syslock_spinlock before reading the\nstrap status so the probe path never attempts to lock an uninitialized\nspinlock.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/39139b1c1c2b614096519b526112c726adb12ff0","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6523daa6852b1bfef32ec7a105b0217e8a115687","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/99a6f37b113c46815deb160c5012073563679ef4","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b6a93a42e0e61f0ba0005a942ee3bffb16c0574e","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b99e890e6b32ffa11c145a16fefcf2c7137a9578"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:48:17.459049833+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-72037","score":0.00215,"percentile":0.11865,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
