Prior to 1.123.64, 2.29.8, and 2.30.1, the Git node clone operation allows an authenticated workflow user to swap a validated directory for a symlink before cloning, planting a crafted repository in the community node directory that loads as a custom JavaScript node after restart and executes arbitrary code on the server. This issue is fixed in versions 1.123.64, 2.29.8, and 2.30.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:L/SA:L","score":8.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-367"],"references":["https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n@1.123.64","https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n@2.29.8","https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/releases/tag/n8n@2.30.1","https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-g3r5-9h93-4j2c"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-71539","score":0.00305,"percentile":0.23004,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g3r5-9h93-4j2c","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g3r5-9h93-4j2c","summary":"n8n: Race Condition in Git Clone Node Allows Authenticated Users to Achieve Remote Code Execution","modified":"2026-08-19T03:56:04.927861931Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":["<1.123.64"],"fixed":["1.123.64"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.30.0 <2.30.1"],"fixed":["2.30.1"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"n8n","purl":"pkg:npm/n8n","ranges":[">=2.0.0-rc.0 <2.29.8"],"fixed":["2.29.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
