{"cve":"CVE-2026-71303","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-18T20:17:23.403","modified":"2026-10-22T22:10:00.250","status":"Deferred","description":"Lemur manages TLS certificate creation. Prior to 1.9.3, _validate_acme_url enforced ACME_DIRECTORY_HOST_ALLOWLIST when an authority was created, but PUT /api/1/authorities/ passed options to lemur/authorities/service.py without applying the same check. A user holding an authority role could replace the stored acme_url with an internal service or instance-metadata URL such as 169.254.169.254. The next issuance operation loaded that value and passed it to ClientV2.get_directory, causing an outbound request from the Lemur backend. This bypassed the creation-time mitigation for CVE-2026-55166 and could expose internal services or cloud metadata. The fix revalidates acme_url whenever authority options are updated. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.7},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/commit/edca0390f930344d65ff4ca37a669c2320e3dfad","https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/releases/tag/v1.9.3","https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-v5rc-cpwc-cfpr","https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-v5rc-cpwc-cfpr"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-71303","score":0.00277,"percentile":0.19929,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-v5rc-cpwc-cfpr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-v5rc-cpwc-cfpr","summary":"Lemur: Incomplete fix for GHSA-v2wp-frmc-5q3v -- ACME authority update endpoint allows non-admin to replace `acme_url` with internal IP, bypassing allowlist","modified":"2026-08-19T12:55:53.241407200Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.3"],"fixed":["1.9.3"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3679","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3679","summary":"Lemur: Incomplete fix for GHSA-v2wp-frmc-5q3v -- ACME authority update endpoint allows non-admin to replace `acme_url` with internal IP, bypassing allowlist","modified":"2026-08-19T12:45:07.050582747Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.3"],"fixed":["1.9.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
