A local attacker can influence an application that uses the Asynchronous Input/Output (AIO) interface. By reusing an AIO-enabled handle after a prior completion error, the _kcapi_aio_read_all() function can enter a non-terminating wait loop. This can lead to a persistent denial of service, making the affected application or thread unresponsive.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.1},"cwes":["CWE-835"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:56985","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:67265","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:67266","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:67267","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:69285"],"products":["redhat:enterprise_linux","redhat:hardened_images","redhat:openshift_container_platform","smuellerdd:libkcapi"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-23T16:39:26.291718493+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-71227","score":0.00197,"percentile":0.09317,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
