Versions up to and including 10.1.1 are affected. An unauthenticated attacker can bypass allowedPath restrictions by requesting equivalent non-canonical pathnames, causing files that were intended to be denied to be served anyway. The bypass does not allow access outside the configured static root by itself, it defeats path-based filtering only. The issue is patched in @fastify/static 10.1.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-180"],"references":["https://cna.openjsf.org/security-advisories.html","https://github.com/fastify/fastify-static/security/advisories/GHSA-8pvw-jcv7-9cmj"],"products":["fastify:fastify-static"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:53.305392138+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-7120","score":0.00369,"percentile":0.30808,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8pvw-jcv7-9cmj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8pvw-jcv7-9cmj","summary":"@fastify/static vulnerable to Authorization Bypass via Non-Canonical URL Paths","modified":"2026-07-24T17:11:53.177602Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@fastify/static","purl":"pkg:npm/%40fastify/static","ranges":["<10.1.2"],"fixed":["10.1.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
