{"cve":"CVE-2026-70590","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-04T22:17:16.850","modified":"2026-10-24T15:10:00.190","status":"Deferred","description":"Ghost is a Node.js content management system. Prior to 6.54.1, any staff-level user was able to leak the hashed passwords of other staff users through the Ghost Admin API. An offline password-guessing attack against the hashes could lead to account takeover if successful, but Device Verification should have prevented an attacker from logging in with a recovered password. Depending on the database used, leaked hashes may not have had the correct casing for all characters, increasing the difficulty of a password-guessing attack. This issue is fixed in version 6.54.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N","score":4.8},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/commit/63c31fad7e473caa62d8fbb4651a04a2a62b5d00","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/pull/29628","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/releases/tag/v6.54.1","https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/security/advisories/GHSA-jm22-3w23-5q7w"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-24T16:53:34.184483516+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-70590","score":0.00323,"percentile":0.25143,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jm22-3w23-5q7w","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jm22-3w23-5q7w","summary":"Ghost: Blind Password Hash Disclosure in Ghost Admin API","modified":"2026-08-17T08:10:38.623523945Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"ghost","purl":"pkg:npm/ghost","ranges":["<6.54.1"],"fixed":["6.54.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
