{"cve":"CVE-2026-67333","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-01T13:17:04.123","modified":"2026-09-08T20:34:34.997","status":"Deferred","description":"better-auth before 1.6.13 (and pre-release builds 1.7.0-beta.0 through 1.7.0-beta.3) fail to validate the scheme of redirect_uris registered via the deprecated oidc-provider plugin and the mcp plugin (which wraps the same provider). An attacker can register an OAuth client with a javascript: redirect_uri, which the authorization server later returns unchanged in the consent response. If the deployment's consent page navigates the browser to the returned redirectURI (e.g. assigning it to window.location.href), the attacker's JavaScript executes in the authorization-server origin, exposing the victim's session and enabling account takeover.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":5.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/better-auth/better-auth/security/advisories/GHSA-86j7-9j95-vpqj","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/better-auth-before-stored-xss-via-javascript-redirect-uri"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:47:10.050265369+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-67333","score":0.00263,"percentile":0.18226,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-86j7-9j95-vpqj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-86j7-9j95-vpqj","summary":"Better Auth has stored XSS in the auth-server origin via javascript: redirect_uri in oidc-provider and mcp","modified":"2026-08-02T03:56:48.086614485Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"better-auth","purl":"pkg:npm/better-auth","ranges":["<1.6.13"],"fixed":["1.6.13"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"better-auth","purl":"pkg:npm/better-auth","ranges":[">=1.7.0-beta.0 <1.7.0-beta.4"],"fixed":["1.7.0-beta.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
